![]() It's super easy to wash, easy to charge, and I think its pretty. Needless to say, I'm a HUGE fan of the Ember cup. This picture is from when I first poured the coffee.īonus for me - another cool feature is the light that lets me know when I need to recharge my cup. Again, my coffee stayed MY perfect temperature all the way to the last drop. I quickly bumped this puppy up to 140 degrees. Wow!!! The liquid stayed hot right up until the last drop.Īfter reading more of the paperwork inside the box, I found I could download the Ember app, sync my cup to my phone, then I was able to change the color of the charging light AND increase the heating temperature. :)Īs soon as I opened the present I washed the cup, plugged it in, charged the battery, and then brewed a cup of Mocha Macadamia-nut coffee. Just my luck, the Ember cup happened to be on sale. Fast forward to this Christmas when my husband was looking for present ideas. But I did put it in my “wish list” basket on Amazon. Because of the cost and not knowing if it would work, I didn’t buy it. Last year I saw the Ember cup on sale at one of those coffee shops. But we all know how much coffee can cost when we buy it from a coffee shop and I definitely don’t want to waste a drop. Or I waste part of it by having to pour it down the drain. I have been known to do this five or six times on one single cup of coffee. I then end up heating up what I have left in the microwave (after pouring it into a microwavable cup - hence dirtying more than one cup). ![]() If I'm focused on something, I simply do not drink it fast enough. I want to clarify here, that when I'm relaxing and not focused on my writing business or the day job, I can usually drink the whole cup before it gets too cool. But just like the others, it cooled off much quicker than I had hoped. To be honest, Yeti did keep my drink hot longer than any of the others. I’ve bought tons of different insulated cups and mugs, to include the Yeti brand. I’ve tried the mug you plug into the car charger. They just didn’t keep the mug hot enough. I think they now sell them as candle wax warmers, too. I’ve bought multiple brands of those desk-top coffee mug heaters. Just no.īecause my main preference is hot coffee, I’ve tried many different things to keep that perfect temperature. But I cannot finish the drink when it is semi-warm or cool. Sometimes I like it ice cold, or even frozen. If you're not a fan of coffee, you can also have tea.Note: This post may contain affiliate links and I may earn compensation when you click on the links at no additional cost to you. ![]() Simple yet effective design and made from the same high quality material as the cup itself, with a non-slip finish on the bottom. The saucer that works as a charging station has a nice long cable with which I can place it exactly where I want, on my desk, next to the keyboard, within reach. The only downside is that you can't put it in the dishwasher (nor in the microwave, no idea why you would, but don't). The light, which works as an indicator (status: charging, charged and in standby, warm, heating up, off) is secretly very cool and even adjustable (RGB!) so that you can keep different cups apart. The material also insulates well, even with boiling hot water you can just hold it in your hand. The cup itself feels and looks qualitatively and is nicely finished, no weird edges or other crazy things and it just drinks as you would expect from a normal cup. ![]() Just put coffee in it and drink it, or not. It has a sensor that knows when there is something in it that needs to stay warm, so no hassle with buttons or switching on/off. You have to update the cup after you take it out of the box, but after that you can use it as if it were a normal cup. The app is a bit overkill in my opinion and absolutely not necessary for use, but nice to have with you if you are an absolute control freak and want to set exactly how hot your coffee should be. In addition, your favorite drink just stays that little bit better, even if you continue drinking, because it is still just as warm as when you poured it. I forgot so often that I still had half a cup of coffee left, and there you are with that cold black disappointment. It's a bit crazy to spend so much money on a cup, but sometimes it's the little things in life that add up and become worth the money at the end of the month.
